The Festival
What is Uferlos?
For ten days, the Luitpoldanlage on the banks of the Isar transforms into a place for music, art, theater, literature and connection.
What began as a small idea in 2009 has become one of the largest independent cultural festivals in Upper Bavaria. Organized by volunteers, backed by a non-profit gGmbH from Freising, and open to everyone. No admission fee, no VIP areas, no paywall in front of the stage.

The Location
The Luitpoldanlage
Right on the Isar, in the heart of Freising. Every May, a place on the banks of the Isar is transformed into a festival site.
Luitpoldanlage 1
85356 Freising
The Luitpoldanlage lies between the Isar and the Schleifermoosach, surrounded by old trees and allotment gardens. It has room for ten stages and locations, a beer garden, the Market of Opportunities and a kids tent. Easy to reach on foot, by bike or by bus.
For ten days, the Luitpoldanlage turns into festival grounds with an atmosphere all its own.

Celebrate sustainably
A great festival can also come with a clear conscience. We are working to keep Uferlos as green as possible.
History
Since 2009. For Freising.
What began as an idea at the kitchen table has long since become a fixture in Freising. A look back.
2009
The founding
An idea at the kitchen table becomes reality. The first Uferlos Festival takes place in the Luitpoldanlage in Freising. Free admission from the very beginning.
2012–2015
Growth
The festival grows: more stages, more artists, more visitors. One weekend becomes ten days. Freising has found its festival.
2016–2019
A local fixture
Around 100,000 guests each year, more than 100 artists across six stages. Winter Wunder and other events beyond the summer season are added as well.
2020–2022
Pandemic pause
The festival has to pause. But the idea lives on. With Sommer Wunder, the cultural office and music school help make open-air culture possible.
2023
Uferlos returns
Uferlos returns. Experienced hands and new faces join forces, bringing fresh ideas and a proven heart. Bob Geldof & The Bobkatz as headliner.
2024
Non-profit status
The GmbH becomes Uferlos Kultur und Veranstaltungs gGmbH. Voodoo Jürgens, Die Sterne and Dreiviertelblut as headliners, a sold-out concert night. Every cent flows back into culture and community.
2026
Uferlos today
May 8 to 17 at the Luitpoldanlage. Ten days of music, art and connection. Free admission. As always.
