With four released albums by now, Ebow has long established herself as one of the most important voices in German rap, delivering the occasional anthem for the naturally political among millennials and Gen Zs. 'She writes politically correct and grammatically incorrect about misogyny in her scene and xenophobia in her country,' as DIE ZEIT once put it. On her album 'FC CHAYA' she focuses entirely on the LGBTQIA+ community, delivering queer love songs like none that have existed in Germany before. The sound shifts between indie rock influences, RnB, and Y2K cloud rap aesthetics. In turbulent times, she seems to be telling us: no message is more important than love itself.
